Coverage options

Four levels of tint, one honest recommendation

Here is what each level covers and who it is for. Pricing depends on the vehicle and the glass, so we quote after we see it, not before.

Maximum heat rejection

Full windshield with clear or light ceramic film

  • Clear or light ceramic options that keep visibility legal and safe
  • Cuts glare on Expressway 83 without darkening your view

Best for: Long commutes, work trucks, and anyone parked in the sun all day

What sets us apart

Most drivers get sold the darkest tint, not the right one

South Texas sun cooks an interior, fades a dash, and turns a parked cabin into an oven. Then every quote that comes back is about how dark you can go, with no one asking how much heat you actually want gone or what Texas law allows on your front glass.

“Not every vehicle needs the same film. We’ll look at how you use your vehicle, how much of your day is spent in the sun, and what you’re trying to fix before recommending a shade. Sometimes that’s ceramic all the way around. Sometimes the front two does everything you actually need it to do.”

Who we are

A veteran and family owned shop in McAllen

Built on the work, not a franchise playbook

Military service, oil field shifts, washing vehicles on days off, then a garage, then three locations across the valley. Blue-collar origin, high-end standards on every install.

Same respect for every vehicle

A lifted Sierra gets the same walkthrough and the same install standard as a Huracán. No tiered attention based on what the vehicle is worth.

Film chosen for the valley, not the brochure

XPEL PRIME ceramic film is built for South Texas heat, rejecting infrared and UV without going darker than you asked for, and it stays color stable instead of turning purple.

How it works

Four steps, no surprises at pickup

  1. 01

We walk the vehicle with you

How you drive it, how much sun it sits in, and what you want fixed. Same walkthrough for a Camry as for a Huracán.

  2. 02

You get a recommendation and a quote

The shade that fits, what the film handles, and what it will not. Texas legal limits covered before anything is cut.

  3. 03

    We prep and install

Glass is cleaned and decontaminated, every piece is cut and heat shrunk to the curve, and edges are tucked clean.

  4. 04

    You pick it up protected

We check every window with you before you leave, plus how to care for the film while it cures in the first week.

FAQ

Straight answers before you book

Still have a question about your vehicle? Call the shop and we will walk it through with you.

What does window tint actually do?+

It rejects heat and infrared, blocks the UV that fades and cracks an interior, and cuts glare so you are not squinting through an afternoon drive. Ceramic film does the heat work without needing to go dark. What tint will not do is make glass shatterproof or keep a vehicle cool with the windows down in August. We would rather tell you that now than after install.

How dark can I legally go in Texas?+

Texas sets limits on how much light the film has to let through, and those limits are different for the front windows, the back, and the windshield. We will walk you through what is allowed for your vehicle before we cut anything, so your tint is not something you have to redo later.

Do I need ceramic, or is a standard film enough?+

That depends on how long you sit in the vehicle and how much of that time is in the sun. Ceramic rejects far more heat at the same shade, which is what most valley drivers are actually after. If you are mainly after privacy and looks on a vehicle you park in a garage, a standard film may be all you need. We will tell you which one fits before we quote you.

How long will you have my vehicle?+

Most vehicles are a same-day job. Full vehicle plus windshield takes longer because each piece of glass is cut, shrunk, and fit individually. We give you a specific timeframe during your consultation instead of a guess over the phone.

Which film do you install?+

XPEL PRIME XR PLUS ceramic film for heat rejection, and XPEL PRIME CS when a customer wants a clean look at a lower cost. We are an authorized Sun Stoppers location and our installers are trained on both.

Will the tint bubble or turn purple?+

Cheap dyed film does that. The films we install are color-stable and carry a manufacturer warranty against bubbling, peeling, and fading. If something is not right, one shop sold it and one shop answers for it.

How soon can I roll my windows down?+

Give the film a few days to cure before rolling the windows down, and expect a little haze or a few small water pockets while it dries out. We walk you through the first week of care before you leave the shop.

Do you offer a discount for veterans and first responders?+

Yes. Black Diamond RGV is veteran and family owned, and we extend a 10% discount to veterans and first responders as thanks for their service.
